Overview
Pathway Legal is working with an established Belfast city centre law firm that is seeking a highly organised, proactive and adaptable Office Manager.
This is a varied and fast-paced role covering several areas of the business, including HR administration, compliance, facilities management and quality assurance.
The position is initially being offered as a 12–14-month maternity-cover contract, with the potential for extension.
Previous experience within a legal environment is not essential. Our client is primarily interested in finding someone with excellent organisational skills, the right attitude and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee records and general HR processes
- Coordinating ISO 9001 processes, internal audits and preparation for external audits
- Overseeing the day-to-day management of office facilities
- Liaising with suppliers and coordinating maintenance and operational requirements
- Managing insurance renewals and regulatory administration
- Coordinating practising certificates and other compliance-related requirements
- Supporting operational projects and managing key deadlines
- Ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the office
Candidate profile
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Be able to manage multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities
- Be proactive, resourceful and comfortable taking ownership of tasks
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
- Have a practical and confident approach to problem-solving
- Be confident working both independently and collaboratively across different teams
Experience in office management, business administration or a similar operational role would be beneficial; however, previous legal-sector experience is not required.
Salary and benefits
- No fixed salary band, although salaries in the region of £29,000–£33,000 have been considered to date
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm
- Flexibility around working hours
