Overview

Pathway Legal is delighted to be working with a prestigious and highly regarded law firm based in Belfast City Centre to recruit an experienced Accounting Technician / Legal Bookkeeper.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong accounts knowledge and practical bookkeeping experience to join an established and professional legal practice. The successful candidate will play an important role within the firm, supporting the effective management of its day to day financial and accounting functions.

While full time hours are preferred, there may be some flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing day to day bookkeeping and financial transactions
• Processing client and office account transactions
• Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Processing payments, receipts and invoices
• Assisting with month end procedures and financial reporting
• Managing supplier payments and general accounts administration
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting procedures and regulatory requirements
• Liaising with solicitors, colleagues and external providers as required
• Supporting the wider financial administration of the practice

Essential Skills

• Previous experience within an accounts, bookkeeping or accounting technician role
• Strong practical knowledge of bookkeeping and financial processes
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive financial information
• Confident IT skills and experience using accounting software
• Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team

Previous experience within a law firm or legal accounts environment would be highly advantageous, although candidates with strong accounts experience from other professional services environments will also be considered.
