Senior Associate – Litigaton

Overview

Pathway Legal is working with an established international offshore law firm to recruit a Senior Associate for its litigation team in Jersey.

This opportunity is suited to a solicitor with 6+ years’ PQE and contentious trust litigation experience who is interested in taking the next step in their career offshore.

You will take responsibility for complex litigation matters, build strong client relationships and contribute to the development of the team. Relocation assistance and employer-supported Licensed housing status are available.

The Role

Working closely with the Partners, you will manage litigation matters with minimal partner intervention, supervise junior colleagues and contribute to the growth of the practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating client matters, including research, providing advice, reviewing documents, drafting and preparing cases for court.
• Maintaining extensive direct client contact and delivering a high-quality, timely and professional service.
• Managing time recording, billing, debtors and financial targets.
• Delegating to and supervising junior fee earners, paralegals and legal assistants.
• Supporting the development of colleagues and an effective team structure.
• Working with litigation colleagues across the firm’s international offices.
• Building client relationships and identifying business development opportunities.
• Contributing to the department’s strategic plans.
• Complying with professional, regulatory and risk management requirements.

The Person

• Jersey, UK or Commonwealth qualification with 6+ years’ PQE.
• Relevant contentious trust litigation experience.
• Strong technical ability, with excellent drafting and research skills.
• Some delegation and supervisory experience.
• Some business development experience and an interest in developing client relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently, use initiative and exercise sound judgement.
• A professional, client-focused approach.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary of £95,000+ depending on experience.
• Relocation assistance, including flights and a cash allowance.

Working Arrangements

The role is primarily office based in Jersey, with occasional working from home available.

Relocation to Jersey is required. Licensed housing status is linked to the role and provides access to the housing market; accommodation is not included in the offer outlined.
