Pathway is delighted to partner with a well-respected public sector body in their search for a Regulatory Conduct Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with legal, investigative, or regulatory experience to play a key role in upholding professional standards in the legal sector. Key Responsibilities
Complaints and Investigations

Investigate and respond to complaints under relevant legislation.

Assess solicitor conduct cases and make appropriate recommendations.

Draft reports, correspondence, and decision notices based on investigative findings.
Case Management

Manage a varied caseload, including sensitive and complex matters.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with internal procedures.

Contribute to internal data collection and statistical reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with the public, solicitors, legal representatives, and external bodies.

Provide guidance on tribunal processes and support regulatory hearings.

Prepare case materials for senior committees and panels.
Regulatory Support

Ensure procedures comply with current legislation and best practice.

Help refine and improve professional conduct frameworks within the organisation.
Essential Skills and Experience
-
A law degree plus at least 2 years’ relevant experience
OR
5 years’ relevant experience (including formal investigation work) -
Proven ability to manage investigations or complex complaints.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems.
Desirable Skills
-
Experience in a regulatory, legal, or standards-compliance role.

Relevant qualification in complaints handling or investigative processes.
