Pathway is delighted to partner with a well-respected public sector body in their search for a Regulatory Conduct Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with legal, investigative, or regulatory experience to play a key role in upholding professional standards in the legal sector. Key Responsibilities

Complaints and Investigations

  • Investigate and respond to complaints under relevant legislation.

  • Assess solicitor conduct cases and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Draft reports, correspondence, and decision notices based on investigative findings.

Case Management

  • Manage a varied caseload, including sensitive and complex matters.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with internal procedures.

  • Contribute to internal data collection and statistical reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with the public, solicitors, legal representatives, and external bodies.

  • Provide guidance on tribunal processes and support regulatory hearings.

  • Prepare case materials for senior committees and panels.

Regulatory Support

  • Ensure procedures comply with current legislation and best practice.

  • Help refine and improve professional conduct frameworks within the organisation.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A law degree plus at least 2 years’ relevant experience
    OR
    5 years’ relevant experience (including formal investigation work)

  • Proven ability to manage investigations or complex complaints.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a regulatory, legal, or standards-compliance role.

  • Relevant qualification in complaints handling or investigative processes.
