Overview
Our client, a long-established and highly respected law firm, is seeking to recruit a Paralegal or Legal Secretary to support their busy Family Law department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative or paralegal experience in matrimonial or family law who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
The firm is open-minded on background, whether you’re a traditional legal secretary with solid family law experience or a junior paralegal looking to gain more hands-on exposure, this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing administrative and legal support to solicitors in the Family Law department
- Preparing legal documents and correspondence, including court forms and client letters
- Managing solicitors’ diaries, arranging appointments and court dates
- Liaising with clients in a professional and empathetic manner
- Opening and closing case files, maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records
- Supporting case progression in divorce, child contact, maintenance, and related matters
- General office duties including filing, photocopying, and managing incoming/outgoing post
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a family law or matrimonial department is essential
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable dealing with sensitive matters with discretion and empathy
- Proficient in MS Office and case management systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
