Overview

A highly respected professional body is seeking a Solicitor or Barrister to join its established Employment Law team in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional looking to specialise or further develop their career in employment law within a supportive, people-focused organisation. The successful candidate will work on high-quality employment law matters, providing expert advice, advocacy, and training to businesses across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

This role would ideally suit candidates with 2–5 years’ PQE, although applicants with less experience who can demonstrate a strong passion and commitment to employment law will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Employment Law Advisory
Providing clear, practical legal advice to member businesses on a wide range of employment law, HR, and workplace matters.

Advocacy & Representation
Managing your own advocacy with full training and support, representing clients confidently and effectively.

Training & Development
Delivering workshops, legal updates, and training sessions to members on key employment law developments.

Client Support & Collaboration
Working closely with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a professional, collaborative, and high-quality service.

Resource Development
Supporting the creation of guidance materials, legal updates, and practical resources for member organisations.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
  • Ideally 2–5 years’ PQE in employment law
  • Candidates from other practice areas with a demonstrable passion for employment law will also be considered
  • Strong advocacy and representation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to provide clear, practical legal guidance
  • Interest in training, education, and professional development
  • Strong teamworking and organisational skills
